Browser extension · 2026
headmap
Shows a page’s title, meta tags and H1 to H6 outline at a glance.
What it does
- Title and meta description with character counts that turn red past 60 and 160; the canonical URL and the robots meta.
- Every H1 to H6 in document order, indented by level, with a count per level.
- Warnings for no H1, more than one H1, a skipped level and headings that are in the markup but not visible.
- Click a line to scroll to that heading, or outline every heading on the page with its level.
- Copy as text, or as tab-separated rows that Excel and Google Sheets split into columns.
- Follows the system theme and the browser language, English or Turkish.
- Problem
- Checking a page’s title, meta tags and heading outline by hand means digging through its source.
- My role
- My own project: idea, design, development.
- Solution
- A Manifest V3 extension for Brave, Chrome, Edge and Firefox with no background script. It reads the current tab only when you open the popup, uses just the activeTab and scripting permissions, and sends nothing anywhere.
- Result
- Open source under MIT. Not in the Chrome Web Store yet: Brave, Chrome and Edge load it from the repository, Firefox installs a build signed by Mozilla from the releases.
